Working German Shepherds
The goal of this kennel is to produce work quality dogs. My dogs are placed in many service dog positions which include: Police K9, Hospital Security K9, Search and Rescue, and detector dogs.
Before I retired from the Michigan State Police, I found an Alk von Osterburg Quell daughter that was producing work quality dogs on a regular basis. Fortunately, she became available and I was able to buy her. That dog, named Jewel, produced eight sons that were patrol dogs for law enforcement or worked as patrol and detector dogs at several hospitals in the Detroit area. Jewel is the matriarch of my kennel and she is complimented by the male anchor of my kennel, Polish Samova Risa (call name – Grim) who was imported from Slovakia by Phil and Cassandra Goulding. I am forever in their debt for them entrusting his care to me.
Jewel, Grim, Haska von der Damburgerschloss (a female who came over from Belgium), and Kira (a female who came from the Cimmerian Kennel/Chip Weiss) are the dogs that are responsible for everything in my kennel.
This bloodline produces dogs with the drive necessary to do the types of jobs listed above. Check the Honor page to see the dogs that work to make Michigan a safer place.
Unfortunately, not every puppy in my litters turns out to be a work quality puppy. Sometimes only one is work quality and sometimes all or none of the pups look like they might be work quality. The puppies that are not quite work quality pups make great companions that are social and eager to please. These are the puppies that are offered for sale to people that care as much as I do about the German Shepherd breed.
